That’s a wrap on Year 18 of The Wayton Open — and what a week it was!
From thrilling matches to sunny skies, community reunions, and shared purpose, this year’s tournament reminded us why we do this. Whether you played, sponsored, donated, volunteered, sold merch, or cheered from the sidelines — thank you. Your support fuels this tournament and keeps me excited to run it year after year.
Most importantly, this is all for the dogs.
Because of your generosity, we were able to present One More Dog Rescue with a check for $5,000 this year. That brings our total donations since 2017 to over $35,000 — all helping rescue dogs find homes, health, and happiness.
About the Wayton Open
The Wayton Open is the creation of Matthew Wayton. Matt organized a one day tennis tournament in 2007 as a way to bring together friends for a few games of tennis. As interest in the tournament grew, the annual community event expanded into a multiple-week tournament and became a popular summertime activity for residents state-wide.
Charitable Giving
The tournament has raised over $35,000 for One More Dog Rescue and other animal rescues since 2017! All proceeds benefit rescue dogs.
